getElementsByName( ) Firefox/Netscape/NN 6 IE 5 Chrome/Safari/DOM 1

getElementsByName("elementName")

Returns an array of references to all element nodes from the document tree whose name attribute value matches the parameter value. If there is no match, the method returns null. When an element supports both the name and id attribute, IE for Windows includes an element in the returned array even if only the id attribute is set to the parameter value. IE for Macintosh and Netscape 6 match only elements that have name attributes explicitly set to the parameter value.

Parameters

elementName

String of the desired element's name.

Returned Value

Array of references to element node object.
